G. N. Bajpai
G.N. Bajpai is the Chairman of Future Consumer Limited. He completed his Master of Commerce degree from the University of Agra and Bachelor‘s degree in Law from the University of Indore.
Mr. Bajpai has previously been the Chairman of Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the Corporate Governance Task Force of International Organisation of Securities Commission and the Chairperson of the Insurance Institute of India. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of General Insurance Corporation of India, ICICI Bank, Unit Trust of India, Axis Bank and Indian Railway Finance Corporation. He is on the Board of Advisors of the Indian Army Group Insurance Fund and National Insurance Academy (University) and also served on the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management (Lucknow).
Mr. Bajpai has delivered lectures at the London School of Economics, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has written three books and was recently honoured for his ’Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Finance’.
He has been on the Board of Future Consumer Limited since February 20, 2008.
Kishore Biyani is the founder and Group CEO of Future Group. Widely credited as the pioneer of modern retail industry in India, Kishore Biyani is a mentor and role model for many Indian entrepreneurs and a thought leader in Indian business.
Over the past two decades he has created and leads some of India's most popular retail chains like Big Bazaar, Central, Brand Factory, Foodhall, fbb, Home Town , eZone, among others. Over time, various retail chains like Nilgiris, Aadhaar, Easy Day, fabfurnish.com, and others have also become part of Future Group. These retail chains are present in around 240 cities across India and attract over 370 million customers footfalls annually. Simulataenously, he has also led the creation of a wide portfolio of consumer goods brands in fashion, food and electronics space, that are distributed through the group's retail chains and various other modern retail networks in the country. The group also made substaintial investments in technology, analytics, food processing, logistics and warehouse networks, provides mentorship and investments to many Indian entrepreneurs and brands and operates joint ventures with dunnhumby, Clarks, Generali Group, Hidesign, among others.
A believer in the group’s corporate credo, ‘Rewrite Rules, Retain Values,’ Kishore Biyani considers Indianness as the core value driving the group. His autobiography, ‘It Happened In India,’ has been translated into a number of languages. Kishore Biyani was born in August 1961 and is married to Sangita Biyani. They live in Mumbai with their daughters, Ashni and Avni.
Whole Time Director
Ms. Ashni Biyani has graduated as a textile designer at Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore. She has also attended courses on scenario planning at New York’s Parsons School of Design and the Summer Institute of General Management at Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.
Ashni Biyani has been instrumental in bringing in design-led thinking within the group’s business decision making. In her current role, she leads a team that understands the nuances of Indian consumers. Ashni has led the conceptualization and launch of a number of retail formats for Future Group. She is currently focusing of creating futuristic food and fashion retail concepts.
She has been on the Board of Future Consumer Limited since 15th November, 2014.
Mr. Adhiraj Harish holds a Bachelors degree in Management Studies and a Masters degree in Legislative Laws (University of Mumbai).
Mr. Adhiraj Harish is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and has been practicing as an Associate at D.M. Harish & Co., Advocates, since 2011. His primary area of focus is real estate laws and he has been instrumental in the successful completion of numerous real estate transactions. In addition to Real Estate, Mr. Adhiraj Harish also practices in the areas of Wills and Succession and the laws and practices with respect to international investments under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, amongst others.
Mr. Adhiraj Harish has co-authored a paper on Human Rights and Environment Law violations by Companies and presented the same at the National Seminar on Corporate Justice organized by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, an organization headed by the Hon’ble Minister for Corporate Affairs.
He has successfully completed several courses including courses at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied International Business and Marketing and a distance course on Intellectual Property Rights from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Mr. Adhiraj Harish is a member of the Council for Fair Business Practices and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). He is also a director on the Board of Advani Hotels & Resorts (India) Limited.
Mr. Deepak Malik holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University, a Master’s degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and an MBA from Cornell University.
Mr. Deepak Malik is a Managing Director of the private equity team in Proterra Investment Partners (“Proterra”). He currently sits on the boards of various companies that Proterra’s private equity funds have invested in. With effect from 1st January, 2016, Proterra spun out from Black River Asset Management, a wholly-owned, and independently managed subsidiary of Cargill, Inc.
Mr. Deepak Malik joined Cargill in 1995 and worked in Cargill’s Strategy and Business Development Group, where he managed corporate strategies and mergers and acquisitions within the petroleum, natural gas, coffee, grain and oilseeds, and meat industries. He also spent one year in international sales for Cargill’s fertilizer division.
From 2000-2007, Mr. Deepak Malik was a co-founder and Managing Director of Cargill Ventures, a $200 million venture capital fund of Cargill Inc. He led the investment strategy around software and business process services. He served on the boards of various companies that Cargill Ventures had invested in, including KPIT Cummins (KPIT), Outsource Partners International (OPI), OB10, Microland , China Data Group and Informance. Deepak's past investments include IndX Software (acq. by Siemens), FIMI (acq. by DTN), and Grand Central (acq. by Google).
In 2008, Mr. Deepak Malik joined Black River Advisors India Private Limited as a Managing Director to head up the operations of Black River in India. He was part of the private equity team in Black River which managed private equity investments in food, food processing, supply chain and logistics sectors. In early 2014, Mr. Deepak Malik relocated to Singapore, and became responsible for leading the private equity investments in India, South-East Asia & Australia.
Frédéric de Mévius
In 1995, Frédéric de Mévius, acting as representative of DLF SA, founded Verlinvest and has been its managing director since then. He is non-executive director of Verlinvest portfolio companies. He is also chairman or non-executive director of several charitable and cultural non for profit associations in Belgium.
Between 1991 and 2004, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Interbrew (now Ab-Inbev). From 1993 to 2000, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Spadel (Belgium).
Prior to these industrial assignments, he had an investment banking career in London and New York. From 1985 until 1993, he was at Lehman Brothers in New York and London as an Executive Director and between 1981 and 1985 at S.G. Warburg & Co Ltd in London where he held the position of Manager in the International Division.
Frédéric holds a BA degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve.
K. K. Rathi
Mr. Krishan Kant Rathi holds a bachelors degree in commerce and is a qualified chartered accountant and company secretary with approximately 25 years of professional experience. He has prior experience in corporate finance, strategic business planning and investmentadvisory, which was acquired in reputable organisations such as KEC International Limited, H&R Johnson (India) Limited, Future Retail Limited (Formerly Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited) and Motilal Oswal Private Equity Advisors Private Limited. He has previously worked as Group CFO with FutureRetail Limited where he was responsible for strategic planning, mergers andacquisitions, treasury management and corporate governance. Mr. Krishan Kant Rathi is also a director of various companies including Future Generali India Life Insurance Company Limited, Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited, Sprint Advisory Services Private Limited (formerly known as Sain Advisory Services Private Limited).
He has been on the Board of Future Consumer Limited since 15th November, 2014.
Ms. Vibha Rishi holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. She was associated with Future Group as Group Strategy and Consumer Director and was responsible for marketing, communication and customer strategy of the group companies. She has previously worked with Tata Administrative Services and PepsiCo.
Mr. Narendra Baheti
Mr. Narendra Baheti is a commerce graduate and M.A. in Economics. He is associated with Future Group since the inception of 1st Big Bazaar in 2002 and continues to contribute in formulation of Integrated Food Strategy. He has set up the sourcing, processing and distribution centers for Staples (Agribusiness) through multiple firms in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad etc. for ensuring city specific assortment to suit the established consumption pattern.
Mr. Baheti started with the unconventional introduction of loose staples in Modern Trade coupled with full range of food grains, Spices, Dry Fruits and above all pricing of Sugar and Edible Oils at attractive levels. Having established the domestic set up, he has also significantly contributed towards sourcing of Pulses from various parts of the world. He has been instrumental in setting-up various processing and manufacturing projects for Pulse, Wheat, Spices, and Rice under various brands at appropriate locations to provide consistent quality all across India.
As a mentor to erstwhile Future Agrovet Limited, (having amalgamated with the Company) he has also strengthened the supply chain management which today aids the Staples distribution to various formats of Future Group. He been on the Board of Directors of the Company since 30th August, 2016.
